they rebuked them. But Jesus called them to him, saying, 'Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom
of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.'

It's our pleasure to serve your littles!
Some 2000 years ago, Jesus shocked the world when He paused to love the littlest ones. No doubt He sweetly held them, played with them, and prayed for them. Mothers and fathers were wisely bringing their babies to Jesus, and we love to imagine that He enjoyed every minute of it!
The nursery ministry at Shades Mountain Community Church wants to closely follow Jesus’s example by loving young children and their parents with intention and priority. It’s our constant prayer that each of the precious children entrusted to our care would come to love Him with all their hearts for all their days and be a mighty tool in His hands to reach the nations with His gospel for His glory.
Our ministry team of 100 beautiful souls desires to put Jesus on display to our littles every time our doors are open. It is our deepest desire to support, encourage, and equip you as you raise your child in the covenant of our church family. We have a new woodland themed nursery wing, secure check-in and check-out program, mandatory background checks for everyone in our ministry, and a passion for blessing our young families.

Frequently Asked Questions.
Is there a check-in?
To check-in your child, go to the nursery desk located by our main entrance off of Tyler Road. You will receive 2 printed labels: the 'child identification label' and the 'guardian receipt'. You will be required to present the guardian receipt at the time of pick-up. You can also fill out our pre check-in form located below.
Can another person pick-up my child?
A parent, grandparent or sibling 13 years of age or older is allowed to pick up your child with the guardian receipt. No child will be released without a guardian receipt. This procedure is to protect your child.
What if my child takes medications?
Please give your child any needed medications prior to arriving at the nursery. The Nursery Director must be notified of the medication and its proper use ahead of arriving to the nursery.
What if my child is sick?
If your child is showing any of these symptoms:
throat, ear or respiratory infection, green or yellow mucus, contagious or unexplainable rash, a communicable disease that is in its incubated period, or a fever 100.4 or higher, we respectfully ask that you wait until these symptoms have resided before leaving your child in the nursery.

Do I need to provide snacks?
Snacks are provided during your child's time in the nursery. We are a gluten/peanut free hall. Water is provided in sippy cups. If you prefer to provide a cup, be sure it is clearly labeled with your child's name. For infants, please label all bottles and food with instructions for feedings. You can alert our staff if your child has a food allergy; this will then be printed on your child's identification label.
What curriculum do you teach?
We teach The Gospel Project. This curriculum is all about the gospel because the gospel is all about Jesus! This Christ-centered, chronological Bible study helps preschoolers dive deep into the big story of the Bible: God's plan to rescue His people through His Son, Christ. We also hold an engaging music time with opportunities to perform bi-annually during the Worship Service.
