Hi! My name is Millie Kennedy, and I'm the Accounting Manager at SMCC. I grew up in a small town, Boaz, AL, and my family was part of a wonderful, faithful church. In my elementary school years I came to understand my own sinfulness and my need for a savior.  As a young Jesus follower, I had wonderful adults in my life who discipled me.  As I learned what it meant to know Jesus as Lord, he directed my steps through college and beyond, always providing a vibrant community of believers with which to learn and grow.

I graduated from the University of Alabama with an accounting degree and worked as a CPA for several years. Once my husband, Phil, and I had children, I “retired” and enjoyed being a mom to our 3 daughters. Once our daughters began heading off to college, I had a desire to re-enter the work world and found my place here at SMCC. It has been a great blessing to have a supporting role as the pastors and staff of SMCC minister in this community.

Phil and I have been members of Shades Mountain Baptist Church, the other “Shades”, since 1985.  It’s our great joy to see our children and their families learning and serving in their own church communities in Oklahoma City, Memphis and here in Birmingham.
