Missionary Care.

This team will seek to serve the role of covering gaps that might otherwise exist in missionary care; a second set of eyes, ears and hands for our missionaries around the world. We aim to provide extra support, in the realm of relationship, friendship, and care. What might start as monthly exchanges of communication will grow into trusted long lasting relationships. Our team members have a desire to ensure that our missionaries' needs are being met and are willing to take action to see this happen.

Faith Promise

Faith Promise

Is a promise you make to God for His work through missions

Why is it important to give to missions?
What is closer to the heart of God than missions (John 3:16, Romans 10:1)? It is not His will that any should perish (2 Peter 3:9). The unsaved need to be told of Christ's provision (Matt. 28:19-20). They cannot hear without a "preacher," (Romans 10:14) but preachers must first be "sent" (Mark 16:15). We, the local church, are the senders.
Does this apply to me?
Faith Promise giving is made to God not men. It is an exercise of faith in the Lord to provide funds, in addition to our regular tithes, that will enable us to help support missionaries carrying the Gospel to places that we cannot go. Faith Promise is not rearranging one's present giving to include missions.

Is this different from a pledge?
This is It is a promise to God based upon His promise to us. A pledge is made to men or to an organization. A Faith Promise is between the individual and God. There is no solicitation of funds. Giving is voluntary, spiritual and scriptural. Its dynamic is faith "for we walk by faith, not by sight" (2 Corinthians 5:7).

How does it work?
Every year at our Missions Conference, each believer is encouraged to pray about our church's involvement in world evangelization. Those who participate are asked to turn in the amount on a Faith Promise card (or complete an online form) at the end of the Conference. This enables the Missions Finance Committee to allocate funds to our missionaries and, by faith, to add new missionaries during the coming year. March begins and concludes SMCC's missionary year.
